News - 50 injured in Savar RMG workers-cops clashSavar, Dec 2 (UNB) - At least 50 people were injured as garment workers clashed with police at different places in Ashulia on Sunday.

Workers of different garment units at Jamgarah,  Narsinghapur, Unique Nishchintapur,  Ghoshbag and Zirabo areas took to the streets in the morning and staged demonstrations to press home their various demands, including compensation for the families of the deceased and injured victims of the November 24 fire incident.

The agitated workers put up barricade on Abdullah-Bypile road, disrupting traffic movement for an hour from 10 am.

A chase and counter-chase took place between police and RMG workers. The angry workers pelted brick-bats at police when the law enforcers lobbed teargas shells to disperse the rowdy workers.

At least 111 people were killed in the devastating fire that hit Tazreen Fashions Ltd on November 24.
